Speak Out

Newbridge 19th - 26th July Speak Out, funded by Erasmus+, was designed to raise awareness of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. The theatre-based exchange brought together 53 young people and their leaders from Austria, Denmark, France and Ireland. They created new performances, designed posters (some shown here) and took part in a week of workshops and stagings. Performances were staged for the public on Saturday 25th July in the PBS School (the use of which we are extremely grateful).

Acting Up: International Training course in Newbridge

5th - 12th July 2015 We were sad to say goodbye, on 12th July, to 32 wonderful theatre-makers from France, Greece and Norway who had been working with us all week on our international training programme called Acting Up.This was a course we designed and hosted in Newbridge for adults working with youth. Acting Up aimed to increase participants’ abilities to develop creative youth work and group work projects, especially in the field of international youth work. KYT bring new play, Indigo, to Scotland's National Festival of Youth Theatres

26 young people from Kildare Youth Theatre travelled to Fife, near Edinburgh for a weekend of theratre-making, workshops and perfomances at Scotland's National Festival of Youth Theatres. The annual event is organised by Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS) and Kildare YT have been participanting every year since 2005 (when they staged 'Citizenship' by Mark Ravenhill in Perth). This year the group, under the artistic direction of Evan Lynch and welfare guidance of Kyle Walsh, created a 20 minute piece celebrating the historic marriage equality referendum result in Ireland (in May). KYT perform in London's National Theatre

NT Connections Festival , July 2015 We were delighted to be invited by the National Theatre in London to present 'Hospital Food' by Eugene O'Hare there on July 3rd. It played in the Dorfman stage as part of the 2015 Connections Festival. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the cast and crew, accompanied by family, well-wishers, and chaperones.
