Are you studying Shakespeare for your Junior Cert or Leaving Cert? This workshop might interest you. We will explore how Shakespeare uses the imabic pentameter rhythm to reveal character and express feelings and mood. We will look at some text from 'The Merchant of Venice' and from 'Hamlet.' Auditions for our 2016 production of The Merchant of Venice will take place at Crooked House, 1 Main Street, Newbridge, County Kildare on Sunday 13th September from 2pm to 4pm. Performers aged 14 to 30 are invited to attend. The workshop will involve people pairing off and preparing a selection of dialogue from either Act 1 Scene 2 or Act 1 Scene 3. 27 July - 9 August 2015 7 young KYT members and 2 leaders went to Austria in July to take part in two weeks of theatre-making along with 60 other young people from Romania, Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Poland and Estonia. The project, called 'theatre.camp' was organised by Austria's largest youth theatre, BiondekBühne in Baden with funding from the EU Youth fund Erasmus+.
