The Act of Oblivion

Join us on Friday, 27th July at 8pm in Riverbank Arts Centre Newbridge for our latest work. The Act of Oblivion explores aspects of our colonial history through the metaphor of contemporary scenes devised from young people's experiences. Two short plays ('Laudabiliter' and 'Surrender and Regrant') play out on the same stage using the same resources, vying for the audience's attention to become the dominant narrative. The Act of Oblivion will then be staged in the Festival of European Youth Theatres in Birmingham as part of the Birmingham Rep Theatre's For / With / By project from 30th July to 4th August. The Act of Oblivion has been funded by the Irish Arts Council's Young Ensembles Scheme 2017. Kildare Youth Theatre is supported by Kildare County Council's Arts Service. Free tickets available for anyone who cannot afford admission: please email info@crookedhouse.ie before Thursday, 26th July at 5.00pm to avail of these.
