NT Connections: Citizenship

Once more we stage our Connections 2016 play, Citizenship, in advance of taking it to the first ever Ignite Festival. The Ignite Festival is run by the National Association of Youth Drama (NAYD) in Ireland. It will be held in the Samuel Beckett Theatre in Trinity Collge, Dublin. This festival brings together 4 shows from Irish youth theatres specially selected by NAYD, and 3 works-in-progress. Kildare Youth Theatre is delighted to be staging Citizenship there. Audition preparations

This a training programme for young people who wish to prepare for acting college and lay the foundations for a career in performance. Young people are given individual attention and helped to prepare monologues for auditioning to third level acting courses here and in the UK. Professional tutors train young actors in voice work, movement, audition preparation, Checkov technique, text and scene work, acting techniques and rehearsal methodologies, physical comedy, and devising. Students may also have the opportunity to study for a RADA Shakespeare Certificate (an extra cost, and providing they are being offered by The Lir this year).
